Comoc MG for Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH) Management

The Comog MG is a sterile, absorbable, multifilament surgical suture designed specifically for use in PPH (Postpartum Hemorrhage) management. It provides excellent tensile strength and secure tissue approximation, making it ideal for controlling bleeding in obstetric surgeries. The suture’s smooth, coated surface minimizes tissue trauma during placement, while its superior knot security ensures effective hemostasis.

Comog MG is intended for single-use, ensuring reliable performance and safety during critical PPH procedures, promoting effective management and minimizing complications. The suture kit features specific, dual-action specifications designed to provide vertical compression and stepwise devascularization.

Technicals

  • Taper Point: Typically a double-strand Polyglycolic Acid (PGA) synthetic absorbable needle 1 (Straight). Features a straight taper point needle approximately 80 mm long. Used for passing the thread anteriorly and posteriorly through the uterine wall
  • Needle 2 (Curved): Features a 50 mm half-circle round bodied (tapered) needle. This allows the surgeon to pass the suture through the avascular area of the broad ligament to ligate the uterine artery.
  • Dual Mechanism: The suture performs two simultaneous actions: vertical compression (similar to a B-Lynch stitch) to stop myometrial bleeding, and bilateral occlusion of the uterine arteries. This technique has gained traction for its high success rate in controlling severe PPH without the need for additional surgical interventions or hysterectomy.
